Session Five - Victory

The heroes have saved the day!  This session marks the end of the side quest the party was on.  It all continued on the 29th day of the Earthy Month at 8:00 pm.  The party continued their negotiations with the sorceress who Bl'nx learned the name was Breiries Pergason.  She attempts a hypnotism spell which affects Eden and Saloch.  She tells them to leave and never come back and they both walk out the door.  Saloch, who had picked up Alaiga continues to walk with her.  Breiries didn't like this and told Saloch to leave the girl.  Saloch snapped out of the trance but Eden continued to walk away.  Breiries continued to tell them that they could have the child back if they could pay 1000 gold pieces.  The group didn't want to do that so she refused to break the curse.Saloch stopped Eden from walking away and brought her back to the cave.  The group then decided to track the mysterious master whom they were considering waiting for, leaving Eden and Ellie to guard the cave, and after an hour it led them to the campsite of the stranger they met in the woods whom Bl'nx has named Slippy Pete.  After some convincing from Bl'nx Eden decided to re-enter the cave as she would not before and they rested in the cave.  Before resting they searched the bodies of the goblins they had killed and found some money.  After searching the room they found that the barrels and crates contained trade food.



30th of the Earthy Month
The party used some of the trade food and one of Salochs create water spells to make unleavened bread.  The party then went to talk to Breiries and negotiate the release of the girl.  The terms were they would pay Breiries 1000 gold and they could keep the girl while Breiries went to her master and told him to break the curse.  The party asks why they should trust her and she tells them that the original plan was to randsom the child to her father for 1000 gold and if she gets it from them she's just as happy.  As she transferred the gold into a chest that already had gold in it from the party, the party tried to stop her claiming the chest in that room to be theirs. Breiries said fine and moved all the gold from the chest into a bag and told them to keep the chest.  Saloch, Voskas and Eden went outside while Bl'nx continued to argue with Breiries.  Saloch told them that he figured if they could kill Bergies before Alaiga died then Alaiga would be fine and the curse would be broken.  While the two of them argued Breiries went to the room to talk to the goblin child and the worg pups.  Bl'nx finally agreed to let her keep the gold but told her that should she ever double cross them he would make sure she payed for it and that her master was going to pay for what he had done to the Spelloyals.  Breiries told him her word was good and that the child would be good as normal in about 36 hours and ten minutes.  Saloch, Voskas and Eden decided that Bl'nx was taking too long and the three of them walked back into the cave and surrounded Breiries.  Voskas threw a tanglefoot bag gluing Breiries to the spot and then he and Saloch and Eden proceded to attack her.  Breiries cursed Bl'nx saying his word was good for nothing and then tried to defend herself.  Bl'nx ran to save Alaiga from certain death but his movement was hampered by his armour and Saloch eventually passes him and saves Alaigas life with a cure light wounds spell in the nick of time.  Breiries only managed to shock Voskas before being killed by him and Eden.  Upon the death of Breiries and the healing of Saloch, Alaiga wakes up and asks whats happening.  The party explains to her that she's been kidnapped and was being used for randsom against her father and they were sent to rescue her.  She is happy and agrees to go with the party to meet her father.  The group searches the room and finds a book of magic, a book of alchemy as well as some alchemist tools.  They also recover the gold they lost and found 650 more gold.  The party then traveled to the temple of Fharlanghn.  They discover that the temple is attached to an inn/tavern.  Alaiga is reintroduced to her father who is incredibly happy to see her.  Famros is across the room chatting up some girl.  Davamros tells the party he'll pay them when he gets to Roysail with them and that they needn't worry about paying for lodgings as he will cover that as well.  So a happy ending but now the party still has much ahead of them.
