Session Seven - A recap

Session seven picked up with the characters in a bar.  Famros has left them now to plead his cause to the king for more troops to come and support the people on the road and to deal with the goblin problem.  The players made a gather information check and found out that the caravan that carried the item they are looking for has actually passed through Roysail.  The players decided to finish up some shopping and get some horses.  Bl'nx went to the temple to Garl Glittergold while Saloch and Eden went to the market district.  Once in the market district they found Slippy Pete buying a large emerald.  The Saloch and Eden decided to arrest him but Slippy Pete states he won't go with them as they have no proof of his involvment.  Saloch sent Ellie to go find Bl'nx and Voskas and Ellie returned with Bl'nx.  Again the party continued to try to arrest him to the point of attempting to steal his some of his hair as a means to scry on him.  This happened in the form of Eden trying to stun him with her monk abilities and when that failed attempting to grapple him which he deftly dodged.  At this point the shopkeeper started freaking out and Saloch decided that this wasn't going anywhere and that they should wait until they know more before they can attempt to bring him to justice.  Also Slippy Pete used his IOU to get Bl'nx to leave him alone. 


Bl'nx then purchased 2 saphires from the shopkeeper and donated them to the church of Garl Glittergold.  He then talked to head cleric to gain information as to how to bring people to justice when one is only a member of the church and not a member of the guard.  The cleric told him that if one is in the wild where there is no immediate law then one must use their best judgement.  If, however, someone who you persue is in the city, you must either do it by the books or else you risk being arrested yourself. Bl'nx then asked if the Cleric knew anything about trade caravans coming through this town, perticularily one manned by dwarves.  The cleric told him that he was not privy to such information but the Roysail Trading Company could probably help him there.  Bl'nx thanked him and went to the trading company with the rest of the party where they found out that the Caravan had been recorded going through the town.  The party decided it was time to travel to Crestways to see if the caravan had made it there or not.  Along the way to Crestways it begun to rain and started to pour heavily.  The party - Bl'nx checked into the inn where they saw two elves sitting in the corner having themselves a drink.  The party didn't take much notice of them and went on their marry way to bed.  In the middle of the night a halfling came crashing into the inn yelling for help.  Saloch, Eden and Voskas as well as the two elves immediatly began to run to the aid of the halfling, who told them his families caravan is under attack by goblins and he needs their help.  Saloch told the halfling to go to the church to find Bl'nx and he would surely help.  The halfing ran to Bl'nx and helped him into his armour and gave him his riding dog get bl'nx to the battle faster.  About 5 minutes down the road the players see three wagons being acosted by 4 hobgoblins and 2 goblins riding worgs.  Saloch, with his quick thinking casts entangle and every goblin get's rooted to the ground for the rest of the fight as they can't make the strength check to break free.  The party then stood back and picked off the goblins one by one while Saloch convinced the worgs to not fight them.  This battle went quite a bit faster and easier than it originally was supposed to and some funny parts were Bl'nx critically failing two rounds in a row and losing his weapons into the grass before the male elf shoot the final goblin with his bow.  Some other highlights were Eden coup de grâceing a goblin trapped in the grass by the entanglement.  The party really cleaned house here.
